Hi, it’s Daisy Alioto. Here is what I am reading this week.

This is a really good breakdown of the current startup media (media ABOUT startups) landscape. Every founder and investor has a megaphone. The next stage of Silicon Valley scribes is respect for expertise and knowing when to shut up. Guess what? We’re not there yet. In the meantime, I will be—to quote the director of ‘Rust’—hitting myself in the face with a frying pan. 

What time is it? Time to preserve Timex’s Connecticut headquarters. Time to ask other people questions when you’re talking to them. Time to get really into Kurdish black metal. 

Less metal: Ari Emanuel bought Frieze. Marriott bought citizenM. I hope this doesn’t impact the Museum of Street Art!
